A UCLA alumnus and political commentator is giving a lecture on conservative political thought Wednesday.

Ben Shapiro, who graduated from UCLA in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in political science, is an author and the founder and editor-in-chief of TruthRevolt, a conservative media group.

Shapiro will lecture for about 30 minutes at the event, hosted by the Bruin Republicans, said Jacob Kohlhepp, the group’s external vice president and a third-year economics and political science student. Audience members will be able to ask questions about the lecture or any topic of their choosing for about 20 minutes afterward, said Kohlhepp.

“Shapiro expressed an interest in speaking here and he speaks to what (Bruin Repulicans members) believe in,” Kohlhepp said.

The lecture will likely focus on the policies of the Obama administration and the media, he added.
