Throwback Thursday: Winter Week 7

Although it was never constructed, the West Los Angeles Veloway, a bike-bridge project prepared in 1982-1983, had huge hopes and plans. It attracted a lot of funding and was aimed at creating an improved bicycle access to UCLA campus from the South to West. Those involved with it hoped for its completion for the 1984 Olympics in L.A.

The giant Ackerman Student Union building present today right next to Kerckhoff began its mega construction in 1960 and cost UCLA $5.5 million.

Phi Epsilon Pi, a national men's social fraternity, activated a chapter and frat house at UCLA in 1960.
