A UCLA student’s bike was stolen Saturday morning while the student was asleep, said university police.

An unknown suspect entered the university apartment on Mentone Avenue, about five miles south of campus, at approximately 11:40 a.m. through an unlocked sliding glass door and took the student’s red 21-speed bike.

No injuries were reported. The case is still under investigation.

Police recommend that students keep their doors and windows locked and do not invite or allow any strangers into their rooms.

Anyone with information about the incident can call UCPD at (310) 825-9371.
