Student’s laptop, sunglasses stolen from fraternity house

A UCLA student’s laptop and sunglasses were stolen from his room at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity last week, according to a university police report released Tuesday.

The student told police he fell asleep in his unlocked room at 5 a.m. Friday and saw that his belongings were in the room. When he woke up at 8:30 a.m., he discovered his laptop and sunglasses were missing.

Earlier this month, laptops and other electronics were stolen from two apartments on Levering Avenue and Gayley Avenue while students in the apartments were asleep. It is unclear if the Friday burglary was related to the earlier burglaries.

No further information was available. The case is still under investigation.

Police recommend that students keep their doors and windows locked and do not invite or allow any strangers into their rooms.

Anyone with information about either incident can call UCPD at (310) 825-9371.
