IMHOME, or Improving and Maintaining Homeless Opportunities through Mentorship and Education, is a student organization at UCLA that works in conjunction with Alexandria House, a transitional shelter for women and children in downtown Los Angeles. UCLA students that are part of IMHOME make weekly visits to the shelter to organize dinners and activities for the residents while also providing tutoring and mentoring services to the youth on site. Radio staff reporter Lilit Arakelyan speaks with IMHOME volunteers and Alexandria House residents about their experiences working and living in the transitional residence.
