The No-Kill Los Angeles Pet Adoption Center on Pontius Avenue is a part of the
NKLA Coalition, which aims to lower the kill rate for animals in shelters throughout
Los Angeles. Through a collaborative effort, Marc Peralta, director of the Best
Friends Animal Society, strives to increase the percent of no-kill
shelters in Los Angeles to 90% in five years, to encourage adoptions and
to inspire other cities to take up the no-kill initiative.
