UCLA football to welcome electronic letters of intent

When recruits sign their letters of intent to come to UCLA during Wednesday’s National Signing Day, they’ll be able to do it in a whole new way. Gone are the days of faxing for UCLA football; the team has embraced modern technology, allowing signees, for the first time, to sign their letters of intent electronically.
Rather than waiting around the fax machine for letters of intent to come in, coach Jim Mora and his staff will instead be able to sit at their computers, as recruits can now pen their name using their mouse – or their finger if using a touchscreen phone – and then email their letters to UCLA.
“UCLA football is all about forward-thinking and using new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness,” said UCLA football Director of Player Personnel Pat Girardi in a statement. “… Our goal is to be on the forefront of exciting technology coming down the pipeline. This is just another advancement in the Bruin Revolution.”
UCLA currently has 17 verbal commitments and its recruiting class is ranked No. 20 in the nation by Scout.com heading into National Signing Day.
