UCLA Dining Services recently announced several changes to dining hall schedules for winter quarter, including closing regular meal services at Hedrick Test Kitchen and opening breakfast for Bruin Plate.

The Test Kitchen will no longer serve dinner because of low attendance rates since the opening of Bruin Plate, according to an emailed statement from Daryl Ansel, director of food and beverage for UCLA Dining Services.

The Test Kitchen will begin to offer “Night Hedrick” in the middle of the quarter, which will be a study and snack space for students, according to the statement. The Night Hedrick menu will likely resemble De Neve Late Night’s menu, said Alison Hewitt, a spokeswoman for UCLA Dining Services. Hours of operation and the complete menu will be announced in the coming weeks.

Bruin Plate will be open for breakfast between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, according to the statement. It will offer whole grain breads with house-made sweet and savory compotes, such as pear and garlic. Entrees will include poached eggs on Brussels sprout slaw with black beans and plantains, and polenta French toast, among other options.
