A man inappropriately touched a female UCLA staff member in Murphy Hall on Sunday, which police characterize as a sexual battery, according to a statement from university police released Wednesday.

The man walked up to the woman on the A-level of  Murphy Hall at about 6:50 p.m. and asked for directions. He touched her briefly in front of the A-level elevators and fled after she said she was calling the police, according to the statement.

The man is described as 20 years old, Hispanic, 5-feet-8-inches tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a beige sweater with dark brown stripes, blue Levi’s jeans, white tennis shoes and a black backpack, according to the statement.

No further information was available. The case is still under investigation.
