While we’ve been familiar with the idea of healthy portions and daily servings since childhood, the USDA food pyramid has changed drastically over the last few years. A healthy plate with protein, vegetable, grain and fruit portions replaces the standard fats-to-grains triangle that we grew up with. This week, Dr. Baron speaks with Daily Bruin Radio senior staffer Bianca Broszus about the advantages of the new plate system and simple ways for students to incorporate all of the categories into their meals every day.
