The Santa Monica building that houses the UCLA Outpatient Surgery and Oncology Center was recently sold to Montecito Medical Investment Co., an investment firm based out of Carpinteria, Calif. The building sold for $55 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Located across from the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, the building was previously owned by Nautilus Group Inc., a private developer. UCLA is currently the only tenant of the building, said Richard Azar, UCLA Health System’s executive director of general services and real estate.

Azar said that UCLA’s operations will not be affected by a switch in ownership, and that the university was not involved in the sale.

The building is three-stories tall and includes eight operating rooms used for various medical operations, as well as a pharmacy and several UCLA Department of Medicine practices.
