Dan Guerrero on UCLA baseball’s NCAA title

After UCLA baseball secured its first-ever national title on Tuesday night, the 109th overall NCAA title in school history, Bruin Sports senior staffer Tyler Drohan caught up with Athletic Director Dan Guerrero.

Guerrero played second base for four years with the Bruins back in the 1970s and was elected to the UCLA Baseball Hall of Fame. The win prevented the school from going title-less for the first athletic year since 1994.

Afterward, Guerrero spoke about the importance of the title, his relationship with coach John Savage and how the national title can help grow the popularity of the baseball program.

The school will host a championship celebration for the team on Thursday at Jackie Robinson Stadium at 2 p.m. Attendance and parking for the event will be free.

Compiled by Tyler Drohan, Bruin Sports senior staff.
