The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

Agenda

  • The council unanimously passed a resolution condemning the use of the word “retard(ed)” and calling for respect for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • The council approved weekly contingency allocations.
  • The council unanimously voted to put a $1.33 quarterly fee increase referendum on the spring USAC elections ballot. The referendum would create the “Bruin Bash Concert and Enormous Activities Fair Fund.”
  • The council rejected a proposal for a $10 fee increase referendum to fund on-campus programs by a vote of 7-6-0.

Officer reports

  • USAC President David Bocarsly said his office’s student events calendar is in the testing phase and is set to be released in the next couple of weeks.
  • Andrea Hester, internal vice president, said her office will put on a Career Week this quarter and Enough is Enough Week, which deals with issues of domestic violence and stalking, is planned for next week.
  • Lana El-Farra, external vice president, said her office drafted a policy concerning student loan debt with the Roosevelt Institute at UCLA, a student think tank.
