UCLA women’s golf doesn’t have to go far from home to compete this weekend. The Bruins will head to the El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, Calif. to play in the Bruin Wave Invitational.
UCLA has teamed up with Pepperdine for several years to host the tournament, a tradition that carries into this year.
The tournament will host a variety of teams, many of whom come from the Pac-12 including No. 1 USC and No. 12 Arizona.
The Bruins are currently ranked No. 16, a jump from their No. 32 ranking heading into the winter season. UCLA tied with USC at the end of the two teams’ last tournament, the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, but lost in a final playoff against the Trojans.
UCLA and USC have traditionally been two of the country’s top teams and recently they have battled for top spots at tournaments.
The Trojans lay claim to three players ranked in the top 25. UCLA’s lone ranked player is No. 10 sophomore Erynne Lee.
The Invitational begins today and ends Tuesday.
