"So you're on the ultimate frisbee team? What's the name they gave you?"
"Burns."
"Burns? Do you know why?"
"No, not at all."

"What do you like about Valentine's Day?"
"It's an excuse to be bubbly on a happy day whether or not you have a valentine. It's just about recognizing love."

"What's your favorite thing about Valentine's Day?"
"Selling roses. Making money."

"I'm not actually a part of MEMO, but my girlfriend is. I'm just out here showing support."

"What's your favorite thing about your valentine?"
"My favorite thing is that she's naturally sweet."
"Do you consider yourself a hopeless romantic?"
"Yes. 100%"

"Why do you like being a girl scout?"
"It's rewarding when you get a patch and I like being with my friends."
Also, these girls had no idea that "Savannah Smiles" cookies were called "Lemon Coolers" before. First signs that I'm getting older. Seen on Bruin Walk

"Cool jeans. Where'd you get them?"
"Goodwill. They were really flared. I undid the seams and hemmed them."

I found him giving her a bouquet of flowers on the lawn of Moore Hall. She was all smiles.

"What kind of instrument is that?"
"It's a baglama--a kind of Turkish instrument. I play middle eastern and Indian music."
"How did you get into that?"
"I grew up with my dad who built instruments. He was a real hippie. He played sitar on the streets of San Francisco."
"You know you should go around serenading people with that today."
"Oh, I didn't even think of that! This is sexy huh?"

"What's your favorite part of Valentine's Day?"
"Getting flowers."
"You get the flowers?"
"Yeah, I actually get a lot of flowers."

"Who is that flower for?"
"My girlfriend."
"What's your favorite thing about her?"
"She's very nice. Very not mean. She's understanding of mistakes. Not everyone is like that. She's just human."

"Is your hair normally pink or did you do it for Valentine's Day?"
"Some years I've done pink. I've also done purple, blue, red. I started out with blonde, but blonde is kind of boring. I like it, but it just doesn't work for me. It's a pink year."

"What's your favorite thing about him?"
"Everything."
"What's your favorite thing about her?"
"...I don't know."
I chuckled nervously, "Sometimes love leaves you speechless!"
As they walked away, she hit him with her camera strap.

Red apparel spotted our campus on Valentine's Day, but none stood out to me as much as the outfit this lady wore. I told her how much I enjoyed her style, and she immediately told me, "I went to a Mardi Gras festival in Venice last week and people asked me about my costume, but I told them that's just my every day wear."
"So you're really into fashion?"
"Well, I'm an artist. I am a former UCLA art student."
"What sort of art did you make?"
"I love to make etchings. They used to have a huge etching press from Germany at the Dickson Art Center which is now replaced by some awful place called Broad."

"How about you take a picture of me taking a picture of these flowers?"
