"What are those sticks for?"
"It's for a dance. We're part of a Punjabi cultural dance team called Bhangra Bruin. We compete across the nation--this year we're going to Las Vegas, Philadelphia, and Stockton."

The man on the right is a math professor at UCLA. When I asked about his friend, he told me, "He is also a professor, but he has retired. But he still gets published a lot."

"We're trying trying to narrow down dates for our formal."
"Can I quote you on that?"
"Yeah, then maybe people will see and ask us!"

"You have some really cool tattoos. How many do you have?"
"I've got like six"
"So did you go six separate times or...."
"Oh, no no! My tolerance is about three hours. I've had to go back four or five times for each."

This is Bobbie and her daughter Kerri. I found the two walking arm in arm by Macgowan Hall.
"We're just alumni coming back to reminisce. I graduated in the 70's and my mom graduated in the 40's..."
I explained that I worked for the Daily Bruin and was extremely excited to take their picture when suddenly Bobbie interjects, "You know I once got scolded by a professor for reading the Daily Bruin during his class!" Awesome.

"This is a jeet kune do club at UCLA."
"That's cool. Why did you decide to join?"
"I just want to do some martial arts. It gets out aggression, it's a good workout, and it's good self defense. It's empowering."

"I used to work at a blood bank. I got to interact with cancer and transplant patients who were recipients of the blood. It's an extremely rewarding experience."
"What has been the most memorable experience?"
"I'll never forget this one time. A 13-year-old kid who had a successful surgery found out that I was the one preparing the blood product for him. He came to the blood blank and asked for me. I just got all choked up. He got a second chance."
