Fab Hot Dogs to replace Socko's Subs

Fab Hot Dogs, a Southern California-based hot dog chain, is scheduled to replace Socko’s Subs in February.

The sandwich restaurant, located at 920 Broxton Ave. next to Diddy Riese, recently closed its doors. As of today, the store was not taking orders online, and its phone number was disconnected.

Store owners could not be reached for comment after multiple attempts.

Construction for the new hotdog eatery is slated to begin on Saturday, said Joe Fabrocini, owner of Fab Hot Dogs. The hotdog joint already has an established location in Reseda, Calif., which has been featured on the Food Network show, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

Fabrocini said he chose to expand his restaurant to Westwood Village because he lived in the area as a child and enjoyed the mix of people.

To accommodate the college and hospital population in Westwood, Fabrocini plans to keep the restaurant open later and deliver in the local area.
