Agenda

• The council unanimously approved weekly contingency allocations.
• Cultural affairs commissioner Taylor Mason and general representative Michael Starr were absent.

Officer Reports

• President David Bocarsly said he plans to send out another campus-wide email encouraging students to vote.
• Andrea “Andi” Hester, internal vice president, said she is working on updating a funding guide for students.
• Lana Habib El-Farra, external vice president, said her office registered 1,624 student voters online. El-Farra said her office held multiple activities in the past week to educate students about the California state propositions. El-Farra added that her office will hold a public forum on Thursday to give students a summary of all the propositions.
• Kim Davis, academic affairs commissioner, said students can send questions and concerns about the holistic admissions process to the UCLA Academic Senate’s Committee on Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools by sending an email to [email protected]. 

Appointments

• The council unanimously appointed Pamela Vila, a fourth-year biology student, to the Eating and Activities Task Force, which aims to improve student health across campus.
• The council unanimously approved Sophia Paik, a third-year psychology and international development studies student, to the Restructuring Steering Committee, which aims to make academic and administrative operations such as hiring personnel more efficient and cost effective.
• The council unanimously approved Ben Gelbart, a third-year human biology and society student, to the Committee on Disability,  which aims to solve issues UCLA students with disabilities face on campus.

Special Presentations

• Nancy Greenstein, university police spokeswoman, said she encourages councilmembers to participate in the UCPD’s ride along program and diversity committee workshops, which explain to students how the university police deal with demonstrations.
