ASUCLA provides student services and activities that the university does not fund and oversees the Undergraduate Students Association, Graduate Students Association, Communications Board, campus services and enterprises.

Store

  • The board approved at $250,000 increase in the budget for the Casual Dining Restaurant in Ackerman Student Union.
  • ASUCLA increased the number of textbook titles available to rent rather than buy.
  • The Ackerman redesign project is still underway with design plans waiting to be discussed by the Board at a later date.

Student Union

  • The board approved at $250,000 increase in the budget for the Casual Dining Restaurant in Ackerman Student Union.
  • ASUCLA increased the number of textbook titles available to rent rather than buy.
  • The greatest shortfall in the student store was in computers, said Bob Williams, executive director of ASCULA.
  • Sales during annual Monster Sale on Oct. 25 were lower than expected. Williams attributed the low turnout to multiple other sales during fall quarter.
  • The store has a strong quarter but is lacking so far in its October sales, Rich Delia, chief financial officer of ASUCLA.

Food

  • Catering exceeded its expected contribution by more than $38,000.
    Sales in food services were very close to plan in October, Williams said
  • A limited selection of concession stands in Pauley Pavilion will be opened for Homecoming festivities.
  • ASUCLA continues to work with UCLA to reach a consensus on how they will contribute to the Healthy Campus Initiative.

Construction
