The Daily Bruin asked students, “Are you going to vote in the USAC elections? Why or why not?” Here’s what they had to say.

Jocelyn Pineda
Third-year, history
“Yes, but first I want to hear more about the candidates and what they want to change. I’m mostly concerned with their views on financial issues.”

Maria Dominguez
Third-year, Chicana/o studies and sociology
“Yes, I’m interested in the candidate who will make it easier for campus organizations to put on more events.”

Mayra Medina
Fourth-year, Spanish and community and culture
“I’m not sure if I’m going to vote yet. I’ve hardly heard anything about the elections or the candidates.”

Roberto Moedano
Fourth-year, Chicana/o studies
“Yes, even though I’m a graduating senior, I will do my research on the candidates and vote in the elections because I want to leave my voice as a legacy.”

Salvador Arreola
Second-year, sociology
“I’m not even going to vote for president of the United States, so no, I’m not voting in the USAC elections.”

Tina Tran
Third-year, biology
“No, because most candidates are running unopposed, so it doesn’t seem worth it.”
