This week the Bruin asked UCLA students about their New Year’s resolutions.

Nathan Razbannia
Third-year, psychobiology

“[I want to] be less of a procrastinator and have the power to initiate. In social interactions, I’m on the passive side, and I want to be more of a leader.”

Olga Mercer
Third-year, cognitive science

“My grandfather died before New Year’s. My resolution is to see further than every day and realize there is death at the end. I want to live in the moment more truthfully, realizing that there is an ultimatum. … The body is not real when there is no life in it; it’s like a sock.”

Carissa Taylor
Third-year, anthropology

“When I was little, my mom forced me to come up with a list of five [resolutions], so I see [New Year’s] as more of a new start, [instead of making resolutions]. But I’m starting a yoga class, so I want to improve my yoga.”
