The bonfire structure and stage are being built in Wilson Plaza, and noontime events, including a dunk tank and Red Bull truck, are being held in Bruin Plaza ““ all in preparation for Monday night’s Beat ‘SC Bonfire and Rally.
The annual event will feature a pre-show at 7:30 p.m., with the bonfire and rally following shortly after. In the meantime, events are being conducted in Bruin Plaza to energize students.
One of the event directors, fourth-year physiological science student Danny Durbin, was in Bruin Plaza helping prepare for the rally by working a dunk tank near the Bruin statue.
“We want to get students hyped up,” Durbin said. “It’s about more than just a rivalry.”
The purpose of the rally is to create a sense of community, getting both students and alumni involved, he said.
