Speaks Out: Campus or commute?

The Daily Bruin asked students whether students should live on campus or commute in order to cut costs? Here’s what they had to say:

“During the year I lived on campus but I have commuted during the summer. I think it’s better to be on campus because everyone is here.”

“I don’t really think students are missing out by not living on campus; people don’t really hang out on campus.”

“I have done both and it is cheaper to commute, but with the amount of time it takes to get to campus with traffic (it) is definitely not worth it.”

“I think it’s best to live in the apartments because you are still close to campus, but you have way more freedoms to do what you want unlike (in) the dorms.”
