Fighting sleep and stink with silly dance moves

Dancers and moralers alike raise their hands and glow sticks in support of helping to find a cure for AIDS.

Apparently, Buzz Lightyear reps Red Bull when he’s tired. And now R2D2 from Star Wars has Mickey Mouse ears on. I don’t think I remember that part in the movie.

Regardless, more students are filling out the dance floor and showcasing their best moves. From the robot to some sort of Beyonce “put a ring on it” thing, nothing looks silly anymore.

At about 8 a.m., Awaken A Cappella came on and did its own rendition of Cee-Lo’s Forget You and Jackson 5’s I Want You Back.

Things are getting a little stinky, though. The bathroom smells like sweat and well, other things.

To some students, 26 hours of dancing is just a walk in the park.

“Right after this, I’m going to Irvine for my friend’s 21st birthday,” said Clara Tsao, a second-year psychobiology and sociology student. “Say a little prayer for me.”

I also saw a student studying physics outside Ackerman Grand Ballroom. Newton’s First Law and ’90s one-hit wonders sounds like a great combo if you ask me.
