Children give testimonies on Dance Marathon's impact

Less than three hours. The end is within reach.
Dancers got a chance to rest their aching feet as a group of children went on stage to talk about their personal battle with HIV and AIDS.
“I’m alive today because of each and every one of you,” one of the kids from One Heartland, a charity for which Dance Marathon participants have been fundraising, said to the crowd. “Not only have you been able to help us get our medicine, but you continue to put a smile on our faces every year.”
Dance Marathoners cheered and applauded these kids for their bravery, courage and love for UCLA.
Travis Cohan, a first-time dance marathon participant, said that he was really moved by their stories and that he hopes to continue his dancing efforts next year.
“These past 20-some hours have been something really special,” Cohan said. “This has been such a great experience; I just need to remember to bring more comfortable shoes next year ““ my feet kill.”
Immediately after, a bass storm rushed the dance floor. Techno, house and dubstep filled Ackerman Grand Ballroom. Students got jiggy to the sound of Duck Sauce’s Barbra Streisand and Run DMC’s It’s Tricky. I ran out and showcased my own dancing talent.
On another note, colored bandanas are officially the newest trend. I want one.
