The Mystery Bookstore, located on Broxton Avenue, will shut its doors for the last time on Jan. 31.
According to manager Bobby McCue, the decision to close was made last week. With the development of e-books and websites such as Amazon.com that offer discounts and free delivery, overall sales have been declining, McCue said.
“There just isn’t a huge light at the end of the tunnel for (small bookstores),” he said.
With the closing of Borders earlier this month, the Mystery Bookstore was the last remaining bookstore in Westwood Village.
