“My tongue is like a needle scratching through the grooves of a lost wisdom, trying to find a faith that beats like yours. What secrets do your bones hold?”
That’s an excerpt from spoken word artist Mayda del Valle’s performance at the White House. On tonight’s show, we have a preview for UCLA’s first ever Poetry Jam where del Valle will take center stage. John Freedman from OneHEARTSource talks to us about the event and shares what he hopes to achieve with it.
The Daily Bruin Radio Show airs Mondays at 6:00 p.m. on UCLAradio.com.
