Seniors Tori Pena and Katy Viuf concluded their UCLA careers and the women’s track and field season with All-American honors at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., held June 9-12.

Viuf and Pena went toe-to-toe during the pole vault event until the 4.30-meter height, which Viuf failed to clear in three attempts. Pena cleared 4.30 meters on her first attempt, but could not clear the bar at 4.35 shortly after.

Pena finished third at 4.30, while Viuf’s 4.20 tied her for fourth. Both pole vaulters will compete USATF Senior National Championships.

Sophomore Ryann Krais, competing in the NCAA Championships for the second straight year, finished 16th in the heptathalon with 5236 points. Her best finish came in the 800-meter run, in which she posted the second-fastest time. Krais, however, could not improve on her 11th-place finish from last year, which netted her All-American honors.
