UCLA women’s golf takes second place in Pac-10 Championships
Freshman Tiffany Lua led the Bruins to a second-place finish Wednesday in the Pac-10 Championship in Oregon. Lua tied for third as the team’s top finisher.

Unfortunately for UCLA, the Oregon weather rained on the Bruin parade.
The top-ranked women’s golf team surrendered a three-stroke lead going into the final round of the Pac-10 Championships at the Eugene Golf Club.
The Bruins tallied 294 (+6) in the third round to finish second in the tournament, totaling 881 (+17).
No. 7 Arizona recorded an even par 288 on the final day to nab the tournament title at 878 (+14).
Oregon posted 290 (+2) on day three to total 889 (+25) at the tournament, good for third. No. 5 USC came in close behind at fourth with a total team score of 891 (+27). Washington rounded out the Top 5 at 906 (+42).
Freshman Tiffany Lua, UCLA’s best finisher in the contest, shot 74 (+2) in the final round to tally 219 (+3) at the tournament to tie for third. Sophomore Stephanie Kono tied for eighth after scoring 77 (+5) on the final day to total 220 (+4). One stroke behind Kono, junior Glory Yang shot 71 (-1) in the final round to tie for 10th in the tournament. Senior Sydnee Michaels and sophomore Brianna Do rounded out the Bruin lineup and finished tied for 18th and 21st with final scores of 225 (+9) and 226 (+10), respectively.
Arizona State’s Carlota Ciganda and Juliana Murcia shared individual medalist honors with final scores of 214 (-2).
Next, the Bruins will play in the NCAA Regional tournament in two weeks.
