UCLA women’s diving team aims for the postseason

Aiming for the postseason, junior Laura Winn and three other Bruin divers will travel to Austin, Texas, for the NCAA Zone E Championships this week.

The UCLA women’s diving team is in Austin, Texas, today for the NCAA Zone E Championships, with four Bruins competing for a spot in the NCAA Championships.

Juniors Laura Winn and Karina Silva, along with freshmen Michelle Vale and Maggy Boyd, compete today through Saturday at the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center.

The four Bruins will be among the 48 divers competing for six spots in the NCAA Championships.

At the Pac-10 Championships Feb. 25-27, Silva and Winn finished second and third, respectively, on the platform.

Vale and Boyd did not make it out of the preliminaries in any of their events.

One-meter competition begins today at 10 a.m. while 3-meter competition begins Friday at 10 a.m. Tower will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
