UCLA women’s golf finishes third at Bruin Wave Invitational

The UCLA women’s golf team held a four-shot lead going into the final round of the Bruin Wave Invitational at the Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita on Wednesday, but the team was unable to hold on to its lead and settled for a third-place finish while crosstown rival USC went on to win.
As a team the Bruins shot a collective score of 872 (+8), putting them four strokes behind Pac-10 rival Arizona State and six shots behind the Women of Troy.
Posting the lowest score for UCLA was sophomore Stephanie Kono who fired 212 (-4) to finish third on the individual leaderboard. Senior Sydnee Michaels finished in a tie for 10th, posting a 217 (+1). Freshman Tiffany Lua recorded 219 (+3) to tie for 15th. Sophomore Brianna Do shot a 225 (+9) and rounding out the Bruin rotation was junior Glory Yang who shot a 229 (+13).
The Bruins will head to Texas later this month to compete in the Betsy Rawls Invitational.
