The UCLA men’s track team arrived at the MPSF Indoor Championships in Seattle as defending team champions, and they captured the title once again in an impressive fashion. Finishing with 108.50 total points, UCLA placed ahead of fellow Pac-10 schools Stanford and California for the title.

The team also added to its list of NCAA provisional qualifiers, with three more individuals and the distance medley relay team. Several other athletes improved on their existing provisional marks to help their chance of competing at the NCAA indoor championships.

Senior Marco Anzures placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a provisional qualifying time of 14:03.58.

Adding to the strong day for the distance squad, redshirt Junior Alex Crabill finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a provisional qualifying time of 8:03.07.

Senior Marlon Patterson placed second in the mile with a time of 4:02.16, finishing only behind Oregon’s former Olympian, Andrew Wheating.

In the pole vault, redshirt junior Johnny Quinn placed second with a provisional qualifying mark of 5.36 meters, and redshirt junior Casey DiCesare tied for third place at 5.26 meters.

Redshirt senior Kevin Craddock continued his dominance at the 60-meter hurdles with a winning time of 7.83 seconds.

Freshman sprinters, Randall Carroll and Maxwell Dyce, finished first and second, respectively, in the 200-meter dash. Carroll ran an impressive time of 21.52 seconds for the win, followed by Dyce at 21.61 seconds.

Junior Jonathan Clark leaped to victory in the triple jump, with a mark of 15.98 meters, improving on his NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
