UCLA student Richard Li-Cha Chen was arrested Monday at 540 Midvale Ave. on suspicion of kidnapping, according to university police.

Chen, 21, has since been charged with counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment by violence, battery and interference with a wireless communication device. He is being held on $177,500 bail, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Police said the incident was a domestic dispute involving individuals who were in a prior relationship.

University police and the Los Angeles Police Department declined to provide further information about the arrest or charges.

Chen could not be reached for comment.
