Police respond to stabbing at Young Hall; suspect in custody

At approximately 12:20 p.m. police responded to a call regarding a stabbing on the sixth floor of Young Hall, according to a statement released by university police.

The suspect has been taken in custody and no more information is available at this time, said Nancy Greenstein, a UCPD spokeswoman.

The victim has been taken to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and the correlation between the victim and the suspect is unknown, the statement said. Police are asking everyone to avoid the sixth floor of Young as an active investigation is being conducted.
