Sports Briefs: Meet the Bruins, 2009 Gymnastics

What: A meet and greet with the Bruin gymnastics team
Where: The Wooden Center
When: Sunday at 2 p.m.
“¢bull; Members of the gymnastics team will perform exhibition routines, participate in a question and answer session with fans, and sign autographs.
“¢bull; Fans will also receive information from assistant coach Chris Waller about the setup of a collegiate meet, the fundamentals of routines and the NCAA scoring system.
“¢bull; The 2009 UCLA gymnastics team features returning All-Americans Kristina Comforte and Anna Li and All-Pac-10 honoree Ariana Berlin.
“¢bull; 2008 Olympian and 2006 World Championship medalist Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs and three-time Level 10 national all-around champion Vanessa Zamarripa round out the highly touted freshman class.
“¢bull; The regular season begins on Jan. 9 in Utah. The first regular season home meet takes place on Jan. 18 against Arizona.
