Men’s volleyball plays it old school at alumni game

On Saturday, the UCLA men’s volleyball team hosted its annual alumni match versus former UCLA players in Pauley Pavilion.

The varsity team won the pre-determined four-set match versus the alumni, taking the first three but dropping the fourth 30-25, 30-23, 30-25, 23-30.

Quick hitters junior Brett Perrine and sophomore Weston Dunlap each tallied nine kills for the varsity team.

Kris Kraushaar led the alumni team with nine kills, an ace and four digs.

2007-2008 Defensive Player of the Year Tony Ker also led the alumni with 11 digs.

The alumni team recorded 13.5 blocks to the varsity’s 10 and tallied seven aces.

The varsity team tallied six.

A .316 attack percentage and 59 kills made the difference for the varsity, as the alumni only hit .183 on just 50 kills.

On Friday, the Bruins will continue their preseason schedule when they host the SAC tournament at the Men’s Gym.
