The newly formed Take Hold movement brought Elizabeth Kucinich, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, to speak during a anti-war event hosted by its members Wednesday.
The talk was held at Meyerhoff lawn outside Kerckhoff Hall.
Take Hold is an umbrella organization which exists to empower youth and create change through peaceful means, member Victor Weisberg said, a second-year environmental science student.
“Instead of a philosophy of ‘us versus them,’ its ‘us together,'” Weisberg said.
During the talk, Kucinich spoke out against the war in Iraq and particularly emphasized the potential of youth to enact change. She said her husband’s presidential platform would end war as an instrument of foreign policy.
