Ducks.

THE”ˆGOOD: Pat Cowan showed an ability to
roll out and make things happen when plays broke down and his
offensive line collapsed around him. He showed much more mobility
than Ben Olson did in the first four games of the season.

THE”ˆBAD: Cowan was hit far too often
because of offensive line issues and also made poor throws into
coverage. He finished with one interception, but if the Oregon
defenders had better hands, he probably would have had three or
four.

THE”ˆVERDICT: The road does not get any
easier for Cowan as he faces Notre Dame at South Bend next week.
Hopefully for the Bruins, one week is all Cowan needs to get away
from his first-game jitters; hopefully for Cowan, one week is all
the offensive line needs to right whatever is wrong with its pass
coverage.
