Editorial: USAC slate politics just not that important

Every year around election season, the Undergraduate Students
Association Council projects promises of working together and
making progress.
But the last two years in a row, one slate or the other has
resorted to cheap tactics while whining about slate politics. We
saw one slate walk out to break quorum during appointments last
year. This year, that slate’s opposition has done the exact
same thing, and the slate is crying to the media about how
it’s been wronged. Over and over again, our elected officials
act like against the best interest of the student body instead of
striving for meaningful progress.
Although the editorial board discussed devoting today’s
editorial entirely to USAC, there are lot more important things
going on in the world and such an editorial would be a waste of
space.
