Democratic voters will go to the polls Tuesday to pick a
gubernatorial candidate to run against Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger,
but neither of the top candidates has gained a substantial lead,
and fewer than 40 percent of eligible voters are expected to go to
the polls.

Californians will also vote on two propositions and several
other positions, such as lieutenant governor, secretary of state
and attorney general.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and L.A. voters can
find their polling location at

www.lavote.net/locator.

State Controller Steve Westly and State Treasurer Phil Angelides
will be vying for the chance to run for governor in the Nov. 8
election.

Recent polls have shown that Democratic primary voters favor
Angelides over Westly 37 percent to 34 percent, with more than one
in four voters undecided as late as Sunday.
