Capitalism needs moral defense

It was nice to see Sara Triplett’s moral argument against
minimum wage laws (“Raising minimum wage restricts worker,
employer rights,” Jan. 9).

The economic case against minimum wage laws was made
successfully long ago, but nobody cared.

People are persuaded by morality, not economics. What
laissez-faire capitalism has lacked for too long is a righteous
moral defense.

Articles like Triplett’s help remind everyone of what even
a child is supposed to understand ““ that all human
interaction should be strictly voluntary.
