U.S. needs positive female role models

I read Connie Bruning’s submission “Women need to
keep dream alive” (Aug. 1), and I just wanted to applaud her
for her opinion. I agree with her 100 percent, and it takes real
strength to come out and publicly say what she said.

You often get labeled a man-hater for wanting to empower women,
which is not true of most feminists.

I thought the article was inspiring for girls ““ we do need
positive role models, and we need to be affirmed that we can
succeed.

Justice O’Connor was a good role model, and personally, I
am crossing my fingers for a Hillary Clinton campaign in 2008.
