Does the U.S. media need to be more cautious with
internationally sensitive issues? Tre Shallowhorn
First-year, African American studies and sociology

“With the current state of international relations, it should
be taken a little more seriously. One false rumor or one false
story can cause chaos. We carry this label of being the superpower,
so we should have superpower communications and superpower media
relations too.” Jesse Karp Fourth-year,
sociology
“Yes, because that’s going to affect
international issues, and they should get their stories straight
before they tell us lies. If you’re messing up international
issues, that threatens our domestic issues.” Laura
Hurley First-year, undeclared
“I think they should
be careful with every story. But the fact that it’s not even
their country that they’re misrepresenting in the story means
they should be more careful so people who don’t know the
country very well can get a better idea of what’s actually
going on there.”
