Are you aware of the Los Angeles mayoral runoff election on
Tuesday? What kind of effect do you think the mayoral elections
have on students? Elias Ibrahim First-year, physiological
science
“Yes, but I don’t think it affects us
that much. They have the city council, and things don’t
change all that quickly in L.A. Hahn and Villaraigosa are the same
party and have the same principles anyway.” Angela
Liu Third-year, anthropology
“No, I didn’t.
But I do think it affects us because the mayor gets to vote on all
the decisions and appoint all those good people who affect my
life.” Adam Sabe Second-year, undeclared
“I know there is an election, but I didn’t know it was
on Tuesday. I think it affects us somewhat, but I don’t feel
that Westwood is really affected by these things just because
it’s so affluent.”
