Alex Gruenberg is an experienced leader with an exciting vision
for UCLA. His solid plans and realistic vision make him the best
candidate for council president that this campus has seen in
years.

We make this statement as two former Undergraduate Students
Association Council presidential candidates and the current
internal vice president, who understand that Gruenberg has a lot to
offer to the UCLA campus. Last year, two of us ran against each
other for president, and together we managed to capture over 60
percent of the vote. Our campaigns brought out the majority of
students, who believe in reform and true diversity on council. This
year, we are united in our support for Gruenberg, and for the
entire Bruins United slate.

As USAC president, Gruenberg will work to ensure that UCLA
students get the most from their representatives. Whether working
to ensure the return of Taco Bell, building better relationships
with Westwood businesses, or bringing wireless Internet to all
corners of campus, he will fight to make sure USAC focuses on the
issues that affect us.

The Daily Bruin Editorial Board was right to recognize
Gruenberg’s dedication to reform. This year on council, he
was a vocal leader for honesty and transparency in government,
speaking out against closed-door funding meetings, and the
arbitrary denial of funding to over 40 qualified campus
organizations.

He also supports the senate campaign, a move that reflects his
commitment to ensure that all UCLA students have a voice in their
student government.

Alex is a leader who backs up his big ideas with concrete
results. As Financial Supports commissioner, he worked to make
financial aid and scholarships more accessible to students and
continued to expand the successful book lending program. He
expanded the effectiveness and reach of his office dramatically,
and in doing so demonstrated leadership abilities that his
opponents simply lack.

We ask you to support Alex Gruenberg for USAC president. He is a
powerful leader with the experience, vision and passion to meet
real student needs.

Lawson is a former USAC general representative. Ludlow is a
former president of Bruin Democrats. Chan is the current USAC
internal vice president.
