Are you planning to eat in the dining halls and at ASUCLA
restaurants during the strike? Why or why not? Millie
Marmer Extension student
“No. I’m not really
sure exactly what the strike is about, but if they’re
striking, it’s worth at least finding out instead of just
ignoring it.” Kevin Chan Second-year, business
economics
“I don’t plan to because I’m
going to respect the strike, even if I don’t necessarily
agree with it. So I’ll eat off-campus at night.”
Sharon Hing Fourth-year, fine arts, history, international
development studies
“No, because the students are
probably one of the most powerful symbols on campus, and it’s
vital that we speak up through our actions. It will show the
chancellor and all the governing bodies of the UC that equality and
justice in the workplace should start at the university and be a
model for the community.”
