What did you talk to Chancellor Carnesale about? Do you think it
was useful? Pearl Tin Third-year, communication
studies
“The school spirit at our school and my
ideas for what we can do to improve it. It was really effective. He
actually said that he would take my ideas and talk to the athletic
directors. I am very, very happy.” Carlos Bravo
Fourth-year, sociology
“I pretty much just
introduced myself to him, I think that he’s a great person to
meet. Then he asked me if there was any issue I wanted to raise.
… I think that the main theme now is … we need to be ready for
diversity when it gets here.” Erika Tanigaki
Fourth-year, Asian humanities
“How there is outreach
for certain groups but not all kinds. For example, the middle class
doesn’t qualify for certain minority outreach programs …
and they feel lost on campus. … He said that he is considering
those issues.” Vidhya Ragunathan Fourth-year,
political science and psychology
“I told him a few
of my grievances, things that students vent about on campus … It
was useful in the sense that you get out your ideas and let someone
know. It’s nice to see someone who’s in
charge.”
