Some teams have harder scrimmages than others. But they
don’t get much tougher than those of the UCLA men’s
soccer team, which will face the full U.S. National Team today at
the Home Depot Center in Carson as part of its 2005 spring season.
The national team is currently training at the site and four former
Bruins ““ Jimmy Conrad, Kevin Hartman, Frankie Hejduk and Nick
Rimando ““ are part of the training camp. UCLA will likely
field multiple players who have been on the U.S. junior national
team.

FOOTBALL: Washington State coach Bill Doba
signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the head
of the program through the 2009 season, Cougars athletic director
Jim Sterk announced Monday. Doba has gone 15-9 in two seasons as
the Cougars’ coach, but went just 5-6 in 2004.
