Speaks out

By Daily Bruin Staff

Nov. 3, 2004 9:00 p.m.

How do you feel about how the election’s results turned
out this year? Alejandra Ponce De Leon Fourth-year,
international development studies
“Well, so far I
kind of feel disappointed. I thought many people were kind of aware
of all the issues that were going on, like Kerry’s positions
and Bush’s positions and how they all presented themselves on
the debates. I thought there was going to be a higher chance for
Kerry to win.” Chris Sims First-year,
biology
“I voted for Bush, so I’m happy with
the election. I’m more worried as to the harsh feelings
between our divided country. I don’t hold any harsh feelings
toward the Democratic candidate, and I don’t think it’s
good when anyone holds harsh feelings toward a Republican candidate
either.” Eva Rhodes First-year, Germanic
studies
“Well, I’m really upset that Bush won.
I think Kerry should have stayed longer and waited and kept on
recounting because I feel like there may have been some other
option, just fight it out as long as possible before we give in to
another four years of Bush.” Kevin Pong Fourth-year,
theater
“I read the Daily Bruin today, and I’m
not really that pleased with the outcome, but some of the things I
kind of liked. The overall organization of it was pretty good; I
mean, it’s one of the largest turnouts in a long time, so
I’m pleased with that.”
