They began the season winless and searching for an identity.

They ended it by winning six of their last seven tournaments,
including the Pac-10 Championships, the NCAA West Regionals and the
NCAA Championships.

The members of the No. 1 UCLA women’s golf team knew they
had it in them all along, it was all just a matter of putting it
all out on the course.

And defying the odds.

Though they set team records for lowest score in a tournament
and most wins in a season, much of the attention on the collegiate
women’s golf scene was centered on a formidable Duke
squad.

When the Bruins went toe-to-toe with their Blue Devil
counterparts at the NCAA Championships, UCLA was the only team left
standing.

Led by junior All-American Charlotte Mayorkas and freshman
Hannah Jun, the Bruins steamrolled the competition en route to
winning only the second title in the program’s history.
